Dr. Brooke L. West, D.V.M.

Dr. West is a Toledo area native. She was born in Perrysburg and raised in Sylvania, graduating from Sylvania Northview High School in 1999. She went on to graduate from the University of Findlay in 2002 with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Dr. West graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006.

To satisfy her love of animals and her interest in veterinary medicine, Dr. West began working at West Toledo Animal Hospital in 1995 while in 8th grade. She started as a kennel assistant and continued her employment here until she entered veterinary school. She returned to West Toledo Animal Hospital in June of 2006 after graduation from OSU and is currently a full time veterinarian at our hospital. She occasionally works at the Animal Emergency and Critical Care Center to gain additional experience.

Dr. West and her husband, Dr. Steve Barthelmas, a veterinarian practicing in Ottawa, OH, have one son, due in May 2008. They currently reside in Deshler, OH.
